Just a word in regard to this littlebook, which we venture to add to themore pretentious undergraduate literature.The sketches and illustrationsare those which appeared in the Christmasnumber of The “Lit.” We donot present them as masterpieces, butmerely as representing the present literarywork in college along the line of fiction.Several of the stories are theirauthor’s “first appearance,” and thethumb-nail sketches are the first attempt,we believe, at college magazineillustrating.
